I’ve decided to start a new weekly blog post, Weekend Wanderings, where I will write about all of the fun family activities and events happening around Victoria and the Saanich Peninsula for the coming weekend. Check it out each week for ideas of how to spend your weekend with the kids!

REOCCURRING/WEEKLY EVENTS:

Saltspring Saturday Market: the Saturday Saltspring Market runs every weekend, April 5th – October 25th, 9am-3pm ish. A fun day trip to explore the produce, baked goods, arts and crafts, clothing, and more.

Butchart Garden Fireworks: Beautiful fireworks set to music! This weekend the fireworks will be at 9:30pm.

Lavender Festival at Bilston Creek: Explore the lavender festival, market, workshops, farm tours, and on some days – live music! Saturdays and Sundays 12-6pm and Mondays and Tuesdays 10am-8pm.

Summer Events at the Malahat Skywalk: The Malahat Skywalk has special events throughout the summer. A Summer Music Series (Saturdays and Sundays), The Raptors (Wednesdays through Sundays), and That Bubble Guy (Saturdays and Sundays).

Sidney Summer Sounds Concert: A weekly outdoor concert at Beacon Park, from 2-4pm on Sundays. Take your lawn chair or blanket and enjoy an afternoon of music! This weekend features Maryjane’s Last Dance, a Tom Petty tribute band.

EVENTS FOR THE WEEKEND OF AUGUST 2ND/3RD 2025:

Sidney Car Show: Check out the car show this Sunday, 10am-2pm (complete with a musical guest!). There are also some activities taking place on the Saturday.

Victoria Symphony Splash: It’s back for another year, this Saturday and Sunday! The event features 4 concerts, free family-friendly activities, live community performances, and local food and beverage.

Viva Victoria Latin Fest: Held August 2nd and 3rd in Centennial Square, this event features live music, dance, crafts, food stalls, and more.

Wonderment 2025: August 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, this event features family-friendly events during the daytime.
